Reflection
Working on UCREATE for my independent study was genuinely a meaningful and eye-opening experience. Throughout the project, I learned how to approach UX/UI and branding with a research-driven mindset. I was able to conduct interviews, gathering insights, and understanding how real students and potential users think on my own. Communicating back and forth with users and my client helped me learn how to translate feedback into design decisions that actually solve problems, not just look good.
There were challenges along the way, especially when it came to getting consistent responses or coordinating schedules for interviews, but those moments taught me patience, adaptability, and how to move forward even with limited information. Prototyping isn’t a strength of mines but through this, I was able to get more familiar with the program.
Overall, this project strengthened my ability to design with intention, listen to users, and build a product that reflects their needs and values. It was a valuable learning experience that pushed me to grow both as a designer and a communicator.
